Russia's electricity export to China jumped 23%

Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov (pictured) shared with reporters on Monday that Moscow's export of electricity to Beijing surged 23% in the period between January and November of 2022.

In 2021 China asked Russia to supply a higher volume of electricity to the country, due to shortages. Russia went from exporting 3 billion kWh per year to 3.8 billion kWh during the previous year, which amounted to $181.5 million.
