Written on 10/28/2022

European stock exchanges under pressure at the start of the session (-1% the Dax, -0.59% the Cac40, -0.88% the Ftse100 and -0.9% the Ftse Mib). The ECB, as expected, raised the cost of money in the Eurozone to the highest level since January 2009, but hinted at the possibility of a less aggressive approach in the future. The European Central Bank raises interest rates by 75 basis points for the third consecutive time. The cost of money in the Eurozone thus rises to 2%. The rate on marginal lending operations, on the other hand, rises to 2.25%, while that on commercial bank deposits with the ECB itself rises to 1.50%.
