EU Opening - Positive stock exchanges pending US inflation

Written on 12/13/2022

European stock markets all up at the start of the session (+0.39% the Dax, +0.4% the Cac40, +0.12% the Ftse100 and +0.30% the Ftse Mib). Wall Street futures close to parity are more secluded.
Three key days begin on the financial markets, with the expected data on US inflation which in the next few hours could give indications on the pace with which the Fed will raise interest rates (and the ECB in cascade). In the meantime, the European lists are professing optimism and are moving upwards, but with prudence. Observers are awaiting confirmation of the slowdown in the US price index (to 7.3% from 7.7%), as it would reduce fears that the Federal Reserve could keep rates high for much longer.
But today's meeting will only be the first half given that the meeting of the US central bank and that of Japan will be held on Wednesday 14 December precisely on monetary policy, while on Thursday 15 December there will be an encore meeting with the ECB and the Bank of England.
