Key Global Events

Day in the markets with focus on the Frankfurt-based central bank. Today will see the release of inflation data and the ECB minutes inherent to monetary policy. The amount of information released today will be very useful for investors in assessing the stance the central bank intends to take to meet its targets. 
On the U.S. front, the ADP will be released today, which anticipates the famous NFP jobs data by a few days. Recent speeches by FED members have hinted at a possible pause in the upcoming June meeting.
Positive start for European stock markets. Milan's FTSE MIB +1.17%, Paris' CAC +0.71%, Madrid's IBEX 1.06%, London's FTSE +0.41%. Wall Stree futures also trade above parity awaiting the decision passage in the House of the debt ceiling deal and recurring unemployment benefits data. Dow Jones +0.11%, S&P500 +0.21% and Nasdaq +0.03%.

Forex & Commodities

The EURUSD cross trades below parity around 1.0683 (-0.05%). The British currency trades around 1.2439 (-0.02%). Among commodities, Oil rebounds this morning and moves back above $68 a barrel (0.40%) Gold trades around $1977 an ounce (-0.23%).

Asia's markets traded higher on the first session of the month. The benchmark index, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 closes by registering +0.84%. China's Hang Seng index trades at 18,282.50 giving up, +0.26 %.

Global Macroeconomic Data 
EUR - PMI data due out in the morning for Germany. PMI expected expected to fall to 42.9. At 11 a.m. CPI data in the Eurozone will be released. Inflation is expected unchanged at 7% year-on-year. On a monthly basis, analysts expect a stall at 0.6%, and core inflation is expected to decline to 5.5%. Following the data release, Chairwoman Lagarde will hold a press conference at 11:30 am. At 1:30 p.m. the monetary policy minutes will be released. 
US - At 2:15 pm the ADP data will be released, expected to fall to 170K. At 2:30 p.m. the weekly report on unemployment benefit claims will be released. The forecast sees an increase to 235K. At 5pm the weekly U.S. crude oil inventories will be released.
