EU Opening - Slightly positive European stock exchanges

Written on 11/02/2022

Slightly positive European stock exchanges at the start of the session (+ 0.25% in the Dax, + 0.60% in the Cac40, + 0.14% in the Ftse100 and + 0.29% in the Ftse Mib) pending the outcome of the meeting of the Fed decision tonight at 19:00 (the market is pricing in a rate hike of 75 basis points). Meanwhile, Wall Street futures are trading just above par (+ 0.10% on the Dow Jones and + 0.16% on the S & P500 and Nasdaq + 0.5%). The focus obviously on President Powell's words for the future. Meanwhile, the dollar remains weak. It will be important to understand how much the Fed, even if it signals a slowdown in the pace of rate hikes after the 75 basis point hike expected tonight, will likely reiterate the need to keep rates "higher for longer" to give the impression that the battle against inflation is not over yet.
